Norman Kasiri is a talented and passionate professional who also has a great appreciation for the art of cooking and creating delicious food. Norman harbors a profound appreciation for the power of food to unite people and create cherished memories.

He has spent hours in the kitchen, reinventing flavours, examining textures and fine-tuning the recipes – all for the purpose of retaining the signature tastes of Indonesian sambal yet incorporating his unique touches into the recipes.

Why buy our sambals?

The right balance of flavours:

  • A good sambal should have a balance of salty, sweet, sour, and spicy flavours. We ensure that the other flavours are not overshadowed by the heat.

Texture:

  • Our sambals have a smooth, creamy texture that is easy to spread or mix into other dishes.

Fresh, quality ingredients:

  • We only use fresh chilies, garlic, shallots and other aromatics that will contribute to a better flavour.

  • We use Atlantic sea salt which is lower in sodium, milder in taste, with pH closer to a healthy body.

  • We choose sunflower oil as it is a known source of minerals, phosphotides, and vitamin E. It is also high in polyunsaturated essential fatty acids, but low in saturated fats.

  • We don’t add MSG, artificial colourings and preservatives.

Hygiene:

  • While we may not be ISO certified, we are committed to maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen. For instance, we take the extra step to wash and sterilise our glass jars to eliminate any potential contaminants.
