Okra belado: Stir-fried okra in sambal belado

INGREDIENTS

  • 200 grams of okra or ladies fingers

  • 2 garlic cloves, sliced thinly

  • A pinch of salt to taste

  • About 3 tablespoons of Sambal Ding Ding Belado

DIRECTIONS

  • Slice the garlic thinly.

  • Slice the okra into 3 to 5 cm pieces.

  • Add 1 tablespoon of oil of your choice.

  • Once oil is hot, add in the garlic and stir fry for a minute.

  • Add the okra into the wok and stir fry for 2 to 3 minutes.

  • Add a pinch of salt and keep stirring for another minute.

  • Add 30ml of water into the wok and cover with a lid.

  • Reduce heat a little and let the steam cook the okra for about 4 to 6 minutes.

  • Toss in the sambal and mix well.

  • Serve with hot steamed rice.
